Welcome to St. Louis

    St. Louis, Missouri was defined as a world-class city when they hosted the 1904 World’s Fair.  This city’s key role in the development of America’s west is evident today in this city of diverse attractions and cultural experiences.   St. Louis’ history extends from the fur trade, Lewis and Clark to the World’s Fair and beyond.  Today, the city offers many diverse museums, restaurants and wonderful shops.  Your reunion tour program will offer many opportunities to experience St. Louis’ top attractions.  Reunion tours include a visit to the Gateway Arch, the Museum of Westward Expansion, a sightseeing cruise on the Mississippi, as well as a tour of the Anheuser Busch Brewery.   The USS Surfbird Reunion will provide many wonderful opportunities to catch up with your friends and family, while exploring the place where the ice cream cone, iced tea and hot dogs were invented.

Hotel  Information

     The reunion officially runs from Wednesday, September 21^st through check-out on Sunday, September 25^th. You will be staying at the full service Sheraton Westport Hotel Plaza Tower, which is located at 900 Westport Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63146. 

     The room rate is just $99.00 plus tax per night.  The rate includes complimentary continental breakfast daily.  For those of you who choose to arrive early or stay late, the same room rate is available three days prior and three days after, based on availability.   Please make your hotel reservations NOW by calling the hotel directly at the following number 888-627-7064, then press 2 to be transferred to Plaza Tower reservations.   Be sure to ask for the USS Surfbird rate.  You may request specific room types when you call to make your reservations (handicap accessible room, etc.). The hotel check-in time is 3:00pm.  Please, do not expect to get into your room before then.  Make your reservations NOW, you may cancel your hotel room 72 hrs prior to arrival and not be charged.  They will ask you for a deposit or credit card number to guarantee your room reservation. The hotel is holding rooms until they sell out or August 12^th, 2011, whichever comes first. 

Airport Transportation & Parking

     If you are flying to the reunion, the Sheraton Westport hotel offers complimentary shuttle service from the St. Louis Lambert Airport (STL).  Upon arrival at the airport call using the free courtesy phone in the Baggage Claim area.  For those of you driving, the hotel offers plenty of free parking.  The hotel is conveniently located off  I-270 at the Page Ave exit.
